Don’t Be Afraid Of The Doorways In Your Life!

Words For Our Youth…

This photograph was made in Alviso, gateway to San Jose—the first capital of the golden state of California! Beyond the doorway lies the San Francisco Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Doors are rich in symbolism, both as an exit from one place (or circumstance) and an entrance to another. In this scene, the man and woman have stepped through the doorway and appear to be contemplating a new reality, a new existence. Life is like that, too. Sometimes we are confronted with the choice of remaining within our personal comfort zones- our safe places- or venturing beyond them. The latter path has risks, but it is also how we grow as human beings. To expand our sphere of experiences, to encompass new places and people, is the essence of our journey as human beings. It leads to understanding and empathy. You will have these opportunities. Don’t be afraid of the doorways in your life!
