Title: Yes We Are All One!®
As this work of art is intended and interpreted, it is a reflection of ourselves watching over all of “Us” Human Beings here on Earth during a Total Eclipse of the Sun, suggesting that we are not alone. It is an authentic and creative effort composed of the people, and fellow beach observers, Palm tree and fronds involved in the moment of Totality. All elements were fully present in those fleeting seconds underscoring the message that we are a part of something simultaneously infinite, such as the moon, and equally minute, such as a grain of sand. The juxtaposition is pure: everything is a part of us! I used this moment of Totality and the palm fronds and large clouds to offer a humanistic face looking back at us and then to be further graced by a small ethereal cloud passing rapidly through the eclipse during Totality making the brow. Printed on a metallic substrate, this gives the viewer an incredibly real, once in a lifetime, true “eye” of ourselves looking back at us from upon high…. We Are All One® !
Not only did I compose and frame this amazing anthropomorphic Eclipse image of the Moon, but that years earlier, for the USA 1976 Bicentennial, I had the fortunate opportunity to personally handle and work with an actual Moon Rock.
I was responsible for designing the unique, versatile and secure display and stand for it. This Moon Rock, that had been picked up on the Moon by a Human hand and then brought back to Earth!
That makes my anthropomorphic eclipse image/journey, even more amazing!
What makes this image an authentic Fine Art Photograph is that it captures and carries the simple, yet powerful message of getting us to stop and to be still… To ask who we are and what are we doing with our lives and what is our true purpose here on Earth! Choosing as the artist, to purposely have the images printed on a metallic substrate only further amplifies and radiates the celestial viewing experiences, as the images subtly change intensity as one walks by. If the viewer stands in front of the artwork and looks closely, they will actually see themselves reflected back at them! They’ve now momentarily become a part of the artwork… part of it’s universal message and that makes for a pretty Amazing Piece of True and Purposeful Art.
When a piece of art inspires and commands dialogue from all, then that is the meaning of true art!
